From 18 February 2027, industrial batteries above 2 kWh, EV traction batteries and LMT batteries (e.g. e-bike packs) need a digital battery passport — per unit. Passenta turns this into a plannable process.
The EU Battery Regulation sets the date: 18 February 2027. Affected is whoever places such batteries on the EU market — including importers and bicycle manufacturers with purchased packs. The passport applies per unit, reachable via a QR code on the battery. Parts of the due-diligence duties were postponed to 2027 by the omnibus regulation; the passport date remained unchanged.
